Governmet through the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) Program has today Donated 26 Pigglets, 20 Females and 6 Males to Special Interest Groups in Masindi District.
The Program Coordinator for Buruli County Major Nobert Besisira said that the Pigglets are supposed to generate income and reduce household poverty among Special Interest Groups.
The Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (PACAO) Richard Kiiza advised the beneficiaries to closely work with Extension Workers in order for their pigglets to grow healthy.
While handing over the pigglets, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi Dominic Tibasimwa challenged those that received pigglets, saying that they will not improve household income.
The beneficiaries on receipt of the pigglets expressed jubilation and exitement and they thanked Government for supporting Special Interest Groups.
They pledged to take good care of the pigglets in order to increase house hold income
