Trade & Industry

The commercial services sector under the Directorate of production and marketing is charged with the role to develop business (both big and small) and promote value addition in the district.  The sector is spearheading the 4th pillar of Prosperity For All (PFA) – promoting and monitoring of SACCOs and primary societies. 

The sector formulates and supports strategies, plans and programmes that promote and ensure expansion and diversification tourism, internal trade, cooperatives and industry.  Promotion of appropriate technologies, conservation of cultural sites and other system put in place to eradicate poverty.
