Fisheries Resources

Masindi district is endowed with several all season wetlands and streams ideal for aquaculture.  It is also a major trade route for fish from L. Albert in buliisa, L. Kyoga in nakasongola district and even L. Victoria in Central Uganda.

  • Trained fish farmers on formulated feeds and aquaculture management
  • Trained fish mongers on hygiene and conduct in markets
  • Harvested 1.5tonnes of catfish and tilapia
  • Trained fish traders on group dynamics.
  • Conducted operations against undersized fish in markets
