Natural Resources

               Forest

·         Collected ug.shs. 10,428,018/= ten  million four hundred twenty eight  thousand  eighteen only  as at the end of February 2010

·         12 Patrols conducted to control illegal forest harvesting

·    Conducted environment and natural resources situation analysis for the development of district ordinance.

·         11 Private tree Nursery operators surpervised and monitored to ensures adherence to standerds.

·          Farmers  assisted to plant  10,000 trees within their localities

·         Distributed 16,500 tree seedlings to 16 schools in budongo and bwijanga sub counties

·        Trainned 40 youth in forestry enterprises development with support of child fund international through CCF project masindi 

·         Sensitized 80 people in forestry poverty linkages in pakanyi sub county with sopport of sustainable development center

·         Participated in formulation of forest management plans for tengele and motokai community forests and keith bitamazire’s private forest in budongo sub county

·         15 private forst owners trained in forest management with sopport from FAO

Environment

·         Conducted environment and natural resourses situation analysis for masindi. this activity continues this year

·         Recommended 36 building planns for approval upon fufilment of envirnment al  conditions

·        Attended over 12 worhshops organised by development partners on environment management matters

·      Participated in formulation of forest management plans for tengele and motokai community forests and keith bitamazire’s private forest in budongo sub county  supported by CODECA

·         Participated in training of 15 private forest owners with support of FAO

·         Sensitizesd 100 people in wetland management with support from CODECA

·         Participated in Environment Impact Assessment exercise in the district

·         Inspected and advised alcohol distillers in bwijanga and Budongo subcounties

·         3 community meetings held along enchorached on degraded wetlands in pakanyi, and Kijunjubwa.

·         Conducted environmental education in 2 schools.

Land Management
