Education & Sports Achievements

Primary Education

• Number of 1^st grades in PLE increased by 12.4% and pass rate rose to 97% from 96% in 2009.
• Number of qualified teachers increased from 99% to 99.5%
• 24 classrooms were constructed.
•  135 lined latrine stances were constructed
• 666 three-seater desks have been procured.
• School management committees inducted.
• 150 teachers were trained in P.6 curriculum.
• 120 teachers were trained to handle P.4 mathematics inducted.
• 24 Senior Education Assistants were promoted.
• 44 Special  Needs Education Teachers (SNETS) received various trainings
• Variuos Sports competitions were organized and coordinated
• 50 Umpires were trained.
• The District Choir emerged the 2nd at Regional level Music competition.

 Secondary Education

• Implimentation of Universal Secondary Education USE) in 5 Secondary schools (all 5 government Aided)
• Completion of 11 classrooms (at Nyangahya Com., Bwijanga, Kigumba and Masindi secondary schools)
